Wow, time really does fly. I didn’t realize it had been so long since I last blogged. Maybe subconsciously I knew but kept putting it off because…….well……(hmm, how can I put this off any longer)…..My ortho doc and I decided that running/walking 13 miles would probably put me back in that dreaded “boot” (air cast) for yet another 6-8 weeks. As much as I don’t want to let anyone down, I really do not like that boot. For THIS year it appears I will be running the 5k instead of the half. Which is still great, but I am disappointed because of everything I have put into it. I do believe that endurance wise I could have handled it. BUT this is not over Even though May 17th will come and go, I still have a goal of running a half marathon that I should be able to do as long as I keep progressing like I have been.
The bottom line is how much improved my overall health is due to the exercise and eating habits that Kevin has helped me with along the way. If you can not afford a personal trainer that does not mean you can’t get in shape on your own, but if you can, I highly recommend giving Kevin a call. (432-2179) He has been great to work with.
I am no doubt stronger, healthier, and have more endurance for everyday routines than I have had in many years. With my photography business I am constantly carrying around large photography equipment for location shooting or spending 10 hours shooting weddings. Being in shape simply makes life easier.

hey brenda, GREAT JOB!!!! I remember the look in your eyes about 5 months ago when we were talking about this. Now look at you! What an achievement! How did your son do? I caught the video of you crossing the finish line (posting today on GeistTV.com) and you looked like you could have gone further (of course, I only saw the finish line, you could have passed out for all I know after you walked out of view of the camera). Maybe next year you can tackle the half???? ; )

Hi Tom. Thanks! It was such a great experience!
Thanks for asking about my son. He had to go out of town and couldn’t run with me:( Actually my whole family unexpectedly had to go out of town and of course that would usually include me but there was no way I was going to miss that race. Not after all this hard work! Althought it was a bummer not having them at the finish line.
No I did not pass out after I was off camera, but I had thought about it a few times at about 2.5 miles (did I mention that I was sick that day? yes, really)
I saw the video. How cool is that?? I can’t get over what a first class event this has been. I have submitted my e-mail address for notification once registration has opened for next year! I haven’t decided yet if I want to tackle the half or dramatically increase my time on the 5k I am thinking half. Either way, I am in!
Sweet.
