In order to post anything to any weblog on the Geist Blogs Network of weblogs, you must first be registered with the network.

In order to post to any of the GeistBlogs.com network of blogs, you must first be registered with GeistBlogs.com (register here or watch video tutorial). After you have registered with GeistBlogs.com, you may then add yourself to any of the GeistBlogs.com weblogs that allow outside registration by typing in the “post on this blog” form and clicking “register.”

You must first be registered for the GeistBlogs.com website. After you are registered for this site:

1. You must then Login to the “Classifieds” weblog
2. Click on the “Write Post” link on the dashboard screen.
3. Type in the title of your ad and the text or details of your event in the box below.
4. Select the “Category(s)” that you wish your classified to appear in on the right hand column (please choose only those categories that are appropriate).
5. Click on the “Publish” button.

When you post to atGeist.com, your post(s) must be approved by our editors before it will appear on the website. We are trying to police what is posted to the community portals.

If you attend a free blog training class hosted by atGeist.com or sign up as a contributing writer, you will be able to post your articles and calendar events without having to go through the screening process.

You can post to atLawrence.com, atFishers.com, and the Geist Classifieds without going through the approval process.

If you have created a blog on GeistBlogs.com, you can choose from several templates to create a custom look and feel for your blog.

1. Login to your blog.
2. Click on the “presentation” tab at the top of your dashboard
3. Click on one of the theme preview images

4. Click on “View Site” at the top and preview your new design!

If you don’t like the design, simply repeat steps 1-4 until you are happy with the look!

Not necessarily. atGeist.com, atFishers.com, and atLawrence.com all have their own e-mail newsletter lists which you will need to subscribe to separately. Many homeowners associations will be e-mailing their registered users through their weblogs. If you do not want to receive emails, simply:

1. Login to any of the GeistBlogs.com weblogs you are registered for
2. Click on “My Profile” in the upper right hand corner
3. Under “Personal Options”, select “No” in the dropdown entitled “Receive Admin Emails”
4. Click on “Update Profile”

Our new GeistBlogs.com network doesn’t like formatted text from programs like Microsoft Word. The best solution is to copy/paste your text from other programs into text programs like Notepad or Wordpad first. Then copy/paste that text into your GeistBlogs.com post. The text formatting that comes along with MS Word will disappear.

The dashboard is actually the backside of your weblog or any weblog that you are registered for. From this screen, you can add, edit, and delete towneposts to any weblog you are registered for. By clicking on the “view site” link at the top of this page you can return to the front side of the weblog.

You must register for each weblog separately. For example, if you registered for atGeist.com but you are trying to post a classified on the Geist Classifieds website, you will not be allowed to login. Simply click on the “Contact Us” link and submit a request to be added to the weblog of your choice and we will assign your username to the other weblogs. (This is a temporary fix until we get additional programming completed)

You must first be registered for the GeistBlogs.com Network. If you want your event to appear on atGeist.com, you will need to add yourself to that blog first.

1. You must “Login” to the website, then click on the “Write Post” link on the dashboard screen.
2. Type in the title of your event and the text or details of your event in the box below.
3. Select the “Category(s)” that you wish your Calendar event to appear in on the right hand column (”Calendar” will be highlighted by default).
4. Scroll down and under “Event Editor” select the day, month, and year in the drop-down menus. Select the starting time of your event if necessary. Enter the ending day and time as well.
5. Scroll back up and click on the “Publish” button (or “Submit for Review” if you are posting to atGeist.com).
