Clare, we'll certainly look into your statements and make any corrections as necessary. Often times when interviewing someone you hear one side of a story, and not always correctly. I certainly don't want to take anything away from Joan or DeVeaus, especially the accomplishments of Samantha Peszek. If you follow atGeist.com, you'll see that we are in 100% support of Sam, her family, and the entire DeVeau's family of gymnasts. What we are witnessing is a once-in-a-lifetime event and we couldn't be happier for you all.

If you want to give your family a treat just before you send them off to school, take them to see "Seussical the Musical." The kids will love it and you parents will have beautiful memories of your childhood when you were reading THE CAT IN THE HAT, GREEN EGGS AND HAM etc. Kurt Krauter (my son), who plays General GK Schmitz is hilarious, Kelly(granddaughter - who by the way captured the title of "Miss Carmel Idol" 2008), plays Gertrude McFuzz and is fantastic, Katie & Courtney play the Who's and little Michael is Thing #2. Even tho this is "Momcat" purring, but don't miss this one!

You might want to check your facts for accuracy before you run an article like "Baron DeVeau Joins Geist Sports Academy".
I have known both Baron and Joan DeVeau for many years, and I feel obligated to point out the errors appearing in your usually enjoyable newsletter.

The information you printed is not correct.
Baron DeVeau has NEVER been affiliated with DeVeau's School of Gymnastics in Fishers, as he and Joan DeVeau divorced before the establishment in Fishers ever began. DeVeau's School of Gymnastics in Fishers does NOT bear Baron DeVeau's name at all. Since it's inception in Fishers, it has always been under the sole ownership of Joan D'Arcy Deveau, hence the "Deveau" in the name.
Baron DeVeau was selling insurance when Joan DeVeau made DeVeau's School of Gymnastics in Fishers widely successful. She is soley responsible for the stratigic planning of staff and training that allowed Samantha Peszek to perfect her gymnastics skills and be where she is today - competing for Team USA at the 2008 Olympics - as a member of the USA women's gymnastics team.
You owe it to your readers to set the record straight about these two individuals. You have not done them or the many families with children in gymnastics justice in what you printed. Please print the correction in the next issue.
To be fair, you might want to run a highlight on Samantha Peszek and her search for Olympic Gold. I'm sure anyone at (Joan) DeVeau's School of Gymnastics in Fishers will be happy to provide you with both accurate copy and photos. You can reach them at 849-7744.

I highly suggest the book called No Mind Left Behind: 8 Brain Skills Every Child Needs To Thrive because it breaks down every skill into sections (organization, attention, emo regulation, etc.) and give very detailed and practical strategies for each problem. The book also explains why children have these problems so you can discuss the reasons for the strategies with your children's teachers.

If the early Greek physicians (Herophilus and Erasistratus) had not dissected and explored the human body as well as many others after them do you really think we would have the knowledge and superb medical and surgical techniques that we have today? Do you think they obtained the proper death certificates?
If you want to live in the dark ages so be it. I hope you do not lock your childred up to avoid them being exposed to such herasey. Knowledge is a good thing.

Sadly, Autum didn't learn one of the most valuable lessons BTE could have taught her.

I believe there are moral, ethical, religious and legal reasons why BTE has no place as a public exhibition.

1) The identities of these bodies – who they were and how they died can’t be confirmed. Premier Exhibitions (PE) can’t provide any death certificates. 2) No consent documentation is provided showing the deceased or their family members consented to the public display of their bodies (and particularly for another companies millions in profits.) 3) Bodies/cadavers donated for science/medical purposes are given for the use of medical students, Anatomists, etc… not for entertainment. 4) PE shipped the bodies (labeled as “plastic models”) into the US aboard cargo ships. Any body/corpse coming into US has to be examined, papers checked, etc… PE gets around this by saying these are “plastic models” and not bodies. Yet they are banking on making millions by selling the public on “real bodies.” And the public is buying.

Do you believe these are plastic models any more than a department store mannequin is a human being?

Ask yourself this, if you had paid for your ticket, were standing in line, and just before you entered the exhibit you were told these actually were plastic mannequins and not plasticized human beings, would you still think it was worth $25? Would you still go home and tell your friends how “cool” it was?

Everything about BTE is so wrong. How the bodies were obained, how they were snuck into the US, the disrespect of displaying dead human beings for entertainment.

I have several lengthy articles if you really want to know the truth. (jwyoung60@hotmail.com)

If after reading the truth about BTE you still choose to attend, so be it. At least you will have made a choice to participate in something with full knowledge of what your money was supporting and the ongoing abuse of these dead Chinese citizens.

Skeptical about the lack of information on the web site...............if it was so much better, you would think there would be further technical information comparing their system to a salt based system..........seems like all marketing fluff to me. Sounds too they might have an "arrangement" with Beazer.
