The Sweet Treat Boutique celebrated its grand opening Friday, July 11th. Many factory representatives were on hand to pass out samples of their sugary wares, including Jelly Belly Jelly Beans, Toxic Waste Candy and Monster Energy Drinks. A “Toxic Challenge” game was a hit with sour candy lovers of all ages. Players were given a piece of super sour Toxic Waste candy. A timer ticked away to see how long participants could endure the sourness. Winners received prizes and posters.

Sweet Treat Owner Lynn Gatto and staff were busy mingling and setting out samples of homemade fudge and popcorn. The Oreo fudge is out of this world! The neighborhood candy store also offers snow cones and gelato. You’ll find a friendly and colorful environment inside, while the benches outside offer a nice place to relax and enjoy your treats. Hours are Monday through Saturday 10-8 and Sunday 11-5. Be sure to bring the family to this new boutique on Oaklandon Road (across from St Simon the Apostle Catholic Church) for a sweet treat this summer!
