Saxony will announce the establishment of Saxony/Republic Scholarship for Achievement in the Arts and dedicate an amazing public art sculpture Thursday, May 8, at Saxony’s Witten Park. The event is from 4-6 p.m. with the program beginning at 4:30 p.m. Saxony is a 725-acre new urbanism project in Hamilton County just off Exit 10 of I69.
Saxony plans to award two, $1,000 scholarships yearly, one going to a graduating senior from Hamilton Southeastern High School and another from Fishers High School. Winners will have overcome adversity and excel in and intend to pursue an education in the visual or performing arts. To establish the ongoing scholarship, Saxony contributed $40,000 to the Hamilton Southeastern Schools Endowment.
In addition, Saxony will dedicate Dale Enochs’ new sculpture piece called Rolling Rhythm. He is an internationally-acclaimed sculptor from Bloomington with public works exhibited throughout the world.
