Get Plump Lips and Lose Weight at the Same Time

Pat 013 We’ve heard of supplements that claim to boost your metabolism or melt pounds away, but how about a lip gloss that curbs the appetite and helps you lose weight? Well, it is out there…in fact, it is right here in the Geist area!

Fishers cosmetologist April Norris has developed a lip product called THINgloss, which is designed to suppress the appetite and raise the spirits. The lip gloss is infused with the natural ingredients “hoodia” and “kola nut” that work transdermally (through the skin) to help control cravings. Peppermint and vanilla are added to enhance your mood.

Can a lip gloss really make you feel good and control your cravings? Norris says it is possible, especially if you use it the right way.“You need to apply the lip gloss three to five times a day,” explains Norris. “And before you glide it on, smell it — for a good five minutes if you can — so the appetite supressents can go to work.”

The lip product goes on smoothly, leaves a glossy shine and even pumps up the lips, thanks to a little natural help from cinnamon. The lip gloss also contains the natural antioxidant Vitamin E, which claims to be 100% pure and protect the skin. There’s only two colors right now — a tan tone called “Whole Wheat Hottie” and a light pink shade called “Kiss Me I’m Single.”

The 36-year-old Norris has always dreamed of owning her own cosmetic company and says she came up with the idea of an appetite suppressing lip gloss while driving in her car and, well, yes, applying lip gloss. Norris had been on a roller coaster ride of diet pills over the past few years, so the concept of controlling your sweet tooth without pills was very attractive. And apparently there are a lot of other consumers who are willing to give it a try.

Pat 012 The product has been catching on just by lip-smacking word-of-mouth alone. You can find THINgloss in a few spots across Central Indiana, including Delaney’s and through AH Collections private cosmetic line. Norris hopes to eventually get the lip gloss into a national retail store. The gloss sells for $18-$22 a tube, and Norris hopes to roll out more cosmetics later this year.

So if you’re ready to toss the diet supplements or just want to try something new, you may want to pick up a tube of THINgloss and give it a try. If nothing else, your lips will look fabulous when you say “no thanks” to the dessert cart!
