Having planned several funerals over the years, Modurn’s Morgen Bosler had always been discouraged by the lack of choice in urns and had struggled to find a simple expression of faith for her loved ones, including a few special pets. After almost 10 years, Bosler finally decided to do something about it.

I started making urns,” Bosler explains. “Lots of urns. I quickly discovered that my 20 years of experience in modern design, along with a fascination for the natural world around me, proved to be a powerful source for my growing collection of sculptural ceramic urns.”

Working out of her studio, Bosler is a true American craftswoman. With each piece, she blurs the line between art and life. “I’ve always
wanted my art to mean something and have purpose,” Bosler explained.

Diamond Pointe resident Henrietta Mercho has been an interior design client of Bosler’s and was not surprised to hear of her new artistic expression.
Mercho stated, “ Morgen is very talented and knowledgeable in contemporary design. I have worked with a number of interior designers, and Morgen was very pleasant and professional.”

“My love for life and art have led me on a journey to open my heart to
people and pets,” Bosler said. Currently, the Indianapolis-based Modurn offers two urn collections. Its Stone collection features a matte finish, while
the glaze-work in the Satin collection is characterized by a more fluid and inventive surface.

Last May, Bosler put down her clay long enough to launch a web site (mod-urn.com) in order to get inside the homes of a market eager for
something different.

Online visitors can browse through two collections of hand-made ceramic urns designed as functional works of art. “With each coil I roll,” explained Bosler, “I strive to connect life and art in a way that others will appreciate and integrate into their everyday life.”
