First Derby Party in Geist Draws Big Hats, Charitable Donations

There was a chill in the air for the 1st Annual Derby Party at Bella Vita Ristorante on Saturday, May 3rd, and the wind had many hanging on to their big floppy derby hats!
But, the party went on with music, food and specially made Derby drinks such as the famous mint julep and the Oak’s Lily (a fuity cocktail that resembles the official flower of the Kentucky Oaks). There were prizes throughout the afternoon and live coverage of the 134th Running of the Kentucky Derby on big screen TVs, courtesy of Essential AV in Geist. The party was sponsored by IndyScene.com with proceeds going to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
