March 18, 2008 by TomBritt · Leave a Comment

atGeist Distribution Map Residents in the Preserve at Indian Lakes, Oakland Hills, and Grey Eagle will start receiving the “atGeist Community Newsletter” this month thanks to the growth in advertising support. We are mailing 11,161 copies and distributing another 2,500 copies through the local Marsh and Kroger supermarkets. The March issue being mailed this week is the biggest issue we’ve ever published, 48 pages. This landmark comes on the eve of another noteworthy landmark in atGeist.com history: Our four-year anniversary!

I know I say this a lot, but I mean it: “Thank you for your continued support of atGeist.com!” What started out as a small dream has evolved into something that I never imagined. Remember, this website, the “atGeist Community Newsletter”, and the neighborhood blogs that we host are all free thanks to our advertisers. Support your local businesses that support you by keeping our services and publications free.

presidentgora5x Ball State University President Jo Ann M. Gora is the featured speaker for the Hamilton Southeastern Schools Foundation (HSEF) annual dinner Tuesday, March 18, when her topic will be “Ball State University: Education Refined.”

Gora began serving as Ball State University’s 14th president in August, 2004. She is redefining education by making immersive learning the cornerstone of every Ball State student’s college experience and showing a commitment to leading-edge technology and developing nationally ranked academic programs. President Gora is a member of the American Council on Education’s Committee on Leadership and Institutional Effectiveness. She was honored as one of 2007’s most influential women in Indiana by the Indianapolis Business Journal. President Gora came to Ball State from the University of Massachusetts Boston, where she had been chancellor since 2001. Previously, she served for nine years as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Old Dominion University in Virginia.

To register for the dinner, go to the HSE web site (www.hse.k12.in.us) and download a form by clicking on the dinner item in “Hot Topics.” Tickets are $125 per person or $1,000 for a table of eight.
