Character building lessons are taught with as much fervor as reading, writing, math and science on a daily basis at Amy Beverland. A school-wide Positive Behavior Program is an integral part of each day, and in fact a documented component of the school’s No Child Left Behind strategies. Kevin Wanzer is a humorous and nationally recognized presenter who will help reinforce the school’s character building efforts, and also serve as a launch pad for a new PTA program called “Kids of Character” to support the efforts of teachers and staff. Kevin will be at Amy Beverland Elementary on Friday, January 18, 2008 from 1:30 to 3:00 pm.

Thank you to everyone who has offered to support the new “Geist Watershed Alliance”.

Our mission is to ensure the water quality in the Geist Reservoir. After the Blue Green Algae Reports last summer, we realized how important it was to form this group for the benefit of our community. We have already taken several major steps forward to create the Alliance. Next week we will be establishing groups that will help with communications, fundraising, and ways to implement sustainable local solutions.

WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT AND PARTICIPATION! Please join us for our next meeting and see how you can help.
